Hataw Hanep Hero : the Amped Edition
Held last November 21-22 @ Silver City Pasig. Myself, my sis & Shall-chan took a cab & arrived shortly after lunch already half-dressed so as to reduce the hassle of spending too much time in the stuffy ladies room for prep. I came in a goth inspired getup and my sis came in a gold top + black skirt + black boots. Her top is the same one she wore at the UP AME event last November 8, only this is the reverse side. We requested Mang Nomer (our "mananahi") to make the said top reversible so it can be worn either side ^___^
The event this year wasn't so 'kid-inclined', if I may say. The venue was pretty okay, space was ample thereby saving my (borrowed) wings from getting crushed from the eager crowd who wanted to take pictures of every cosplayer available. We were able to take lots of pics too, it's just too bad the contestants for the cosplay event were restricted to the second floor and there were really nice cosplayers.
There were a lot of new cosplayers in this event, and my sis and I were thrilled to see two DOD characters brought to life, namely, Delphine and Petsha.
I would have to admit though, that Silver City is not one of the more convenient places to hold an event like this, primarily because it's not as accessible as the more common venues (Megatrade Hall, World Trade Center, SMX Convention Center, to name a few).
Since there weren't any baggage counters to leave your stuff to, we ended up 'camouflaging' our own stuff among others which were just lying on corners & empty spaces on the venue. Eh wala kase baggage counter eh. And besides, they can't expect everyone to come in costume & not bring stuff, kaya kanya-kanya na lang iwan ng gamit sa kung saan.
We were able to enjoy the event as much as we can, and went home tired, but it wasn't much of a loss even though we were not able to finish it.
